I never knew why the world produced yam until I found out this recipe and many more to come

- Yam – 1 cup ( chopped into cubes)
- Lobia ( cooked ) – ½ cup
- Coconut scraped – 2 tbsps
- Chilly- 1
- Garlic cloves – 3
- Turmeric pwd – ¼ tsp
- Salt – for taste
- Jeera / cumin powder – ½ tsp
- Mustard – 1 tsp
- Chilli flakes – ½ tsp
- Curry leaves – 1 stem
- Oil – 1 tbsp( coconut oil preferred)
- In a cooker put the yam and add ¼ cup of water,salt and little turmeric and cook till yam is done ( allow five to six whistles and leave in pressure )
- In a blender mix coconut, jeera pwd,chilly,garlic,turmeric pwd and grind to a coarse paste.
- In a pan crackle the mustard seeds, add the chilli flakes and curry leaves.
- To this add the coconut paste and mix well.Cook for 2 – 3 mins and then add the cooked yam and lobia to this and mix everything together.
- When the water dries up and the gravy becomes thick remove from flame.
- Serve hot.
