Kerala famous for its coconuts and plantains, combine them together and get this superb dish.

- Large semi ripe plantains – 2 cups ( chopped)
- Moong dal / green gram – 1 cup ( soaked )
- Coconut – ½ cup (grated)
- Turmeric pwd – ½ tsp
- Green chilli – 2 nos
- Garlic – 3 cloves
- Roasted jeera / cumin pwd – 1/2 tsp
- Salt – as req
- Curry leaves
- Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- Shallots – 2 nos / a pc of onion
METHOD:
- In a cooker add the plantains ,moong dal ,2 cups of water and cook without salt till moong dal is done.( approx. 6-7 whistles)
- Grind together coconut,turmeric pwd, green chilli,jeera pwd, garlic and salt.
- In a pan pour a tsp of cocnut oil, crackle the mustard and fry curry leaves slightly.
- To this add the coconut paste for 3-4 mins till raw smell is gone.
- Add the cooked plantains and moong dal and mix well.
- Cook in medium flame for 5 mins, mix in between.
- Serve hot with rice or roti.
