Fish prepared dry as a side dish when you have your gravies to support the rice.For non-vegetarian keralites their meal is incomplete with fish, so you will find a variety of seafood preparations in all forms in this beautiful greeneries of kerala.
INGREDIENTS:
- 250 Gms fish / prawns
- 3 shallots
- 4 green chillies
- 1 tsp pepper corns
- ¼ tsp turmeric pwd
- 3 pcs kokum
- ½ tomato sliced
- Handful curry leaves
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- Salt as req
METHOD:
- In an earthen pot cook fish/prawns, kokum and salt with 1 cup water.
- When water is completely dried shred the fish with a fork lightly.
- Coarsely grind the coconut, chillies, shallots, turmeric pwd and pepper corns.
- Add this to the fish and mix well.
- Add salt, tomatoes and ¼ cup water and mix well.
- Cook for 5 mins till water is almost dry.
- In another pan pour oil and crackle the curry leaves and pour into the fish, mix everything together and serve.
