FISH PEERA


Fish prepared dry as a side dish when you have your gravies to support the rice.For non-vegetarian keralites their meal is incomplete with fish, so you will find a variety of seafood preparations in all forms in this beautiful greeneries of kerala.




INGREDIENTS:
  • 250 Gms fish / prawns
  • 3 shallots
  • 4 green chillies
  • 1 tsp pepper corns
  • ¼ tsp turmeric pwd
  • 3 pcs kokum
  • ½ tomato sliced
  • Handful curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • Salt as req


METHOD:
  1. In an earthen pot cook fish/prawns, kokum and salt with 1 cup water.
  2. When water is completely dried shred the fish with a fork lightly.
  3. Coarsely grind the coconut, chillies, shallots, turmeric pwd and pepper corns.
  4. Add this to the fish and mix well.
  5. Add salt, tomatoes and ¼ cup water and mix well.
  6. Cook for 5 mins till water is almost dry.
  7. In another pan pour oil and crackle the curry leaves and pour into the fish, mix everything together and serve.
